Q76: Lets talk about February! Tell us of your Valentine’s day
memories please.
I bought a lot of chocolate to make sure I had enough to give to all the people I felt I owed something, and I was happy because I could eat all the chocolate that was left.
Q77: What kind of chocolate do you want to eat now?
Ice cream with chocolate on top.
Q78: What do you want to eat now? Something sweet or salty?
I want to eat a grilled fish meal.
Q79: What was your favorite class at school?
Japanese. I can definitely say that my favorite subjects were liberal arts/humanities.
Q80: What about your least favorite subject?
English. I really didn’t like it! It’s funny, because it’s such a big part of my life now.
Q81: Did you have any self-imposed rules on how you took notes in class?
When I was studying abroad, I had some space in my notebook where I summarized what was written on the blackboard, and some space where I wrote any new English words that I heard.
Q82: When you were studying for a test, did you have a specific method of studying? Or did you just stay up all night studying, the night before the exam?
When I had tests, I usually stayed up all night studying. I like classes, and I never had any problems concentrating in class, but I often struggled studying at home.
Q83: What student clubs did you want to join when you were in school?
I wanted to join the tea ceremony club! It would be wonderful if I could make my own tea…
Q84: Did you enjoy school events (cultural festivals, sports festivals etc.)?
I don’t remember much, because I was busy with work, but I admired the students that worked hard after school to prepare the school festivals!
Q85: When was the first time you applied your own make up?
Probably when I was in 6th grade. I remember putting make up on for an audition.
Q86: Is there any make up or color you would like to try?
I would like to try make up that makes me look like I’m in a painting, not just make up that makes me look pretty. Something like flashy colored eye shadow!
Q87: How many hours a day do you spend on your phone?
Too many. I would like to spend less time on my phone.
Q88: What LINE stamps do you use most often?
“Loose” (yurui) pictures, and LINE character stamps.
Q89: Does it bother you if there are unread messages on LINE?
It doesn’t bother me when I have unread messages, and it doesn’t bother me either when someone else hasn’t read mine.
Q90: Are you a phone person? Or a LINE (mail) person?
If I’m talking to a close friend, the phone is better.
Q91: What suggestions appear on your phone when you type “sa”?
Sayashi.
Q92: What about “ya”?
“Yabai” (dangerous, oh no!)
Q93: And “shi”?
“Jikan” (time)
Q94: What is your favorite camera app?
The iPhone “junsei camera” (genuine camera) app, and B612.
Q95: Do you take pictures of your food before you eat?
I want to remember good food, so I try to take pictures of it as much as possible these days.
Q96: Are there any sayings you have heard that you like?
I guess so.
Q97: Is there anything you do that people think is unusual?
I sometimes start dancing out of nowhere.
Q98: Sayashi, name something that makes you think “this is one of the 7 wonders of the world!”
My father always calls me when I’m busy with something. My mother never does that.
Q99: February 2nd is Setsubun (the day before the beginning of Spring in the old calendar in Japan). Do you eat Ehomaki (a seasonal sushi roll that brings good luck when eaten on the last day of winter) every year? Can you eat an entire portion?
I do eat it every year! My portion is usually half the size of the regular one.
Q100: It has been cold lately. Please say something warm for all the Sayashiihitotachi!
Don’t forget to keep yourselves warm, so that you can avoid getting sick. It may be cold, but I will do my best to stay in touch, in any way I can. I hope everyone is well.
